I have an EVO/IA stage 4 on my tiptronic 996TT. The best times at the drag until today has been a 11.547 at 126mph. Tips cannot raise the rpm more than 2000-2200rpm. They tend to move forward.

IM not sure thats correct. 6 speeds, like mine- either wheel hop, overrevv if it doesnt hook, or bug down.
the sweat spot is jusy a bit under 3K and u ride the clutch. I made over 70 runs ands I played with all possible configurations... and my best 60 ft was 1.74 at 11.5 sec in 124mph. If u can have a quicker 60ft.. u dramatically reduce ur ET. Thats why our tts suck at the track( 1 st gear is usless... send is not far behind).
Sharky, for example has a TIP and hes in the 1.6 60ft.
I have never seen a 6 speed do lower then 1.7 60 ft.
if u do... ur in the high 10s.
Im on my second clutch... this time I have a stage 3 sachs... so it holds better.
Its all about the launch.
I have a evo 8 that does 10.5s average and I launch it the same way every time( 2 step to build boost... and use the hand break).
If Im not mistaken, sharky uses the break as well in his TIP.

Back in May 2003, when Dave Colman, the Feature Editor from Excellence tested KA, he documentated a 1.6 second 60 foot. It was 102 degrees plus ambient temperature and we were spinning the wheels in the tires. KA has a six speed. At the time, first and second gears were stock.
Later ........ she was alot faster than that before she bent all six rods.

I understand chad.... But Im talking about simple stage 2,3,4 with k24s, hybrids, etc, an ecu and exhaust.
plus ur Not an average TT owner .
maybe u did... but not many others without cracking the engine in half... or bending rods from 1.6 bars of boost on a stock engine.
My point is: its very hard to get 1.6 sec 60ft on a TT that runs on 1.2 or 1.3 bars of boost. It would be good to look up the last shoot out and see the 60 ft. times. I dont have the publication handy.

At the time we were running TIAL GT25 R turbo's and 1.25 bar. Those are K16 hybrids. www.tialsport.com
Yes, it is difficult. Try consistent 1.35 to 1.45 second 60 footers. Incidently, she was tested in May and June of 2003 by Colman. They didn't publish until the April 2004 issue.

figures.... that it was something else other then k24s.
now it seems like they put the garrett gt30r in the kkk housing on the high HP cars.
did u have an external actuator(wastegate).

If I ever get her back together, I will be using the GT30 R's (modified) with 1995 GT2 KKK K24's (modified). That's a far bigger K24 than they are using in today's GT2's.

boost comes on at 3800rpms.... but I go til 10K.
I wish my TT ran like my evo(streight line exxel)
I run 35 psi on 116, 30 psi on 110, 25 psi on 100, and 21 psi on pump(93)... I use a rally stand alone- autronik... the half partner who started motec.... then they split and autronik was started. I was tuned by one of , if not the best in the country( autronik) rally builder. everyone else uses AEM .

Tried my car at the lacal strip last night and pulled an 11.35 on the PSI 480 kit tip with ep2 quiet and BMC. I'm just bull****ing but I figured this would raise some eyebrows. I have not run it yet for a time but it does feel quick. I know all too well how difficult 1.6 60 footer can be. Dude around here with a tweaked mustang that pulls 1.10 60 footer on 10 inch slicks. That's damn good for you non draggers. He runs the 1/8 mi and is in the upper 5's. Keep running these cars and posting results. I am going to do so also. Later.
