UW Inconel 3" race exhaust...
Looks like it's finally taking shape. UW Inconel 3" exhaust with anti drone pipes, quad 3" tips, V-band 5.2" HJS Motorsport race cats, and V-band cat bypass resonators.

I already have his stainless version which he made to my specifications and it's absolutely amazing. Cup sound without drone. This will basically be the same exhaust except made out of inconel. It'll be quite a bit lighter. Chris is truly an artist and his stuff is worth the wait which can sometimes be 6 months or more especially when going with the more exotic materials as we are here. The sound should be higher pitched due to the thin walls of the inconel tubing.

Damn thats great. My exhaust is the inconel 3inch but catless and i have drone. Theres no way around it once you go catless.

Yeah he built an amazing stainless piece for me last year. I had a titanium set up before that sounded good but had way more drone. Inconel would be very cool, you'll have to post a vid, I'm sure a lot more than me want to hear it in action!

Chris places a pair of resonators in place of the cats. He doesn't just stick a plain 3" pipe in place of the cat like all the others. Chris' bypass is a 3.5" pass though resonator so it does not neck down aft of the turbo exhaust flange. All the drone is actually removed with the additional helmholz resonators that are a part of the second stage of the exhaust. They have not been added to the exhaust yet in the 1st picture. The helmholz resonators do not mask drone, they cancel it, akin to a noise canceling headset. As such, the exhaust does need need additional muffling and this allows the exhaust to be loud and aggressive outside the car but very pleasant inside the cabin without any drone. In comparison, a stock OEM GT3 exhaust drones considerably.

We discussed titanium but decided against it as it would not stand up long term to the heat of continuous track use. Hence to choice to going with inconel.

I bet Felix could make you a resonator to put in place of the straight bypass pipe. Talk to Sam and I bet he can make it happen for you. I know Protomotive uses Burns resonators in place of the cats and it's very effective. Not helmholz effective, but effective. There is no way to put a helmholz resonator onto an existing exhaust as you have packaging constraints that are part of the whole exhaust design.

john im still interested in the stainless setup if you decide to sell it

I'll think about it Steve. I'm pretty sure I'm going to hang onto it as a spare just in case something happens mid season and I need a quick replacement. I can't afford to wait for a replacement if I needed one and won't settle for another exhaust. I waited almost 10 months for my first one. If I decide to sell however, you have first dibs...
