CR Spotless on Sale at Costco

FYI- Costco has the bigger DIC-20 Spotless water system on sale for $369.99 shipped during June. That's a great price if you're looking for one. Works great.

Never heard of it. Does the car really dry after washing without the need to dry?

Seems pretty cool.

How long does the resin last before it needs to be refilled? Will it last couple years if you use it on weekly basis?

Waterspots are tough to remove. Deionized water will minimize them if the car dries before you can get to it, but I would still recommend drying the car. Not too sure deionized water completely eliminates water spotting.

I have black paint and water spots are always a potential problem. Sprinkler systems are my enemy.

Don't know much about washing the car with it, but ymmv quite a bit on resin life depending on your water source. I run rodi for a reef tank and am on well water that has a lot of dissolved carbon dioxide. I can only make about 100 gallons per lb of di resin. At ~$12/lb could be pricey to use for regular car washes. City water does not have this problem from what I understand.

I'm on the same resin for 1+ year right now. Wash at least 6 cars washes a month. It's starting to be about time to change it. I generally use a pressure washer for it which should be extending it's life.

Using a pressure washer will certainly extend the resin life as they cut down the flow rate. Also it's recommended to only use the CR for the final rinse. I wash with regular water, but am careful to not let any portion of the car dry before rinsing with the CR. Even then, I try to dry the car with a blower or waffle-weave towels to prevent any spotting which are hard to remove later.

Is it just as easy as unscrewing dumping out the old media and putting in the new?

Rodger that Hotrod. Just unscrew the caps on the two inside white containers, dump 'em out, rinse and then refill.
