Center Exhaust/Diffuser Project

Testing phase I........ Barber Motorsports Park, not too heavy on aero dependence with a top speed of 1:34 or so. Broke my TT1 lap record of 1:31.8 with a 1:31.1 and I was under driving the car by a good bit (not on purpose of course, just rusty at this track, and my brake zones moved forward significantly from my previous times there). My previous lap record was set on very old tires, but in February. This time on stickers, but in the heat of July, with some costly mistakes and mediocre choice in lines. Undoubtedly worth a 1:29, which I intend to make good on when I return in October. The limits have been raised so much I didn't get a chance to really explore them in time trials with 3 laps at a time before catching traffic each session. Next up, Mid-Ohio end of August, NCM and Barber again in October.
Oh, and the exhaust sounds fan-freaking-tastic!!!!!!!
BTW, Barber is awesome if you haven't been there.

Yep. A7's. Would love to try some Pirelli's around there though. The long sustained turns there would really show the difference in grip levels. Debating on adding a little ballast and running them in October.

Ive been saying for a decade now that it only takes a handful of mods thay Porsche left out to make this car super fast in RWD or AWD. After that, just removing the rubber stuff that fails over time. People have been trying to over engineer it forever. My car doesn't have any geometry changes outside of bumpsteer on the toe arms. The lap records and times at major tracks speak for themselves. Anything you find thats significantly faster has far more development, hp, or is a factory race car or tube frame.
Similar weight/power and aero mods and this car will run with any street based car.

Just to give people point of reference, pre IMSA spec Daytona Prototypes were only running 1:45 at VIR full course. I believe your time would have been competitive with the GT class cars.
What are the specs on your car?
Coil-over brand/type/spring rates?
Tires size?
RWD or AWD?
Brake setup?
Weight?
HP?
How much negative camber are you running?

I run 3.2 front 2.2 rear camber. Many make the mistake of copy catting cup cars when cups dont have the torque ours have.
The rest is a getty wing and decklid, joe toth splitter and canards. Solid bushings everywhere, GT3 sways and adjustable lower control arms. Tilton Cup car clutch.
