Obviously, this may be one reason that the oil pressure remains so high during casual driving ect. Porsche may have built this car as a daily driver.
Does anyone know if GT3's have this same issue?
Z06801, I look forward to seeing you soon at the track. I believe your attending the PCA event in Utah next month.? I would love some insight on some of the turns at this track. I'll buy the beers!
Attended last year and had a blast!

Good question, I believe all Mezgers sound this way. Can anyone confirm that?
Couple 996TT's with 1/2 million mile on the odometers running around so I'm not worried Just curious.

Most of the noise is from the hydraulic lifters that have bled down after sitting for an extended period. GT3s have the same issue. You may not hear it as much due to a slightly different design of the GT3 lifters. The oil pressure gauge may not be a true indicator of oil pressure due to its location. Internal engine components like rod bearings are likely seeing oil pressure long before it registers on the gauge due to its location. Again, I'd find something else to obcess about. A Boxster engine is nice and quiet on start up but certainly will not last 100+ race hours between rebuilds. I'll take the Metzger and its brief lifter clatter on start up any day.
Park, are you gonna run the turbo or the vette? I didn't see your name on the list.
