OBD2 scanner group buy

okay, here's the deal. we only need 5 people to do this to get the 169 price. this is the whole package that you would normally get at the $249 retail pricing. the only diff is that this is the non CAN version for $169. according to the software manufacturer, our cars are not CAN so it does not matter. however, you won't be able to use this on late model Fords or other cars that are CAN enabled though. you do have the option to order the CAN enabled version for $199. it does not matter which version is ordered as long as we order five versions. after i call them back, we will have 48 hours to get all the orders in to get this pricing. i will set the whole thing up. you will need to call do this as internet ordering will not be an option. once all five or more orders or placed, the orders will be processed at the reduced rate and shipped. pretty easy actually. here's the web address again:

http://www.autoenginuity.com/index.html

please refer to the site for questions about the product.

here's our list again:

Deputydog95
Big6dad
Gary(FL)
Nycebo

If are 100 percent and you want it, copy the list with your name into another post so I can get an accurate count. Once we get enough, I'll give it a couple more days for stragglers and then set the buy up. As I said before, you'll have 48 hours to phone and place the order.

Yes. Comes with the speed tracer software as well. Works like a gtech unit, but much more accurate.

From what I understand, this is the OBD software to get.

the TT guys can even read their stock wideband 02 sensors for real time AF readings.

wow, no turbo owner interest here???

for those of you with modded turbos, here's your opportunity to diagnose and clear CEL's, as well as being able to read AF ratios real time.

Already have the dual mode unit, works on my PDA and laptop......that is such a sweet deal, nobody should pass this up especially if they are considering modding their car. It's worth it's weight in gold the first nucance SEL you get!

This is an excellent product and Jay at AE is a really good guy.

Ben: Do you know if our cars are CAN enabled or not? Jay said no, but others are questioning it.

Deputydog95:

No, the 996 xx are not CAN enabled cars. That only applies to car like the new REX8 and the newer Jags etc.

You do not need CAN. CAN can be added later to the AE tool if you end up buying a car with this new protocol.

Cheers,

Unless you're going to run it all the time, I would get the laptop. You can't beat the big color screen.

Deputydog95,

Occasionally it will take longer to communicate with the car...I have been meaning to call Jay and ask why...it may be the version I am running. Part of the reason maybe is I used to have a supercharger E39 540 which I had programmed into the AE software and my Dell X5. Each time I tried connecting it seem to use the BMW shortcut if you will.

Recently since I have only been connecting to my TT, it's been fine, again sometimes it's slow but it's no biggy and it always eventually connects.

To be honest Jay would be the best person to query about any connectivity issues.

I have been very happy with my AE scan tool, in fact it's one of the most useful tools in my garage.

Hope that helps.
