I bought the 18" Forgestars back in March 2015. They are 18x8.5 and 18x11 as I wanted wheels that would accept both the stock sizes as well as 245/315s. Right now I'm running the stock size rubber that came with my car. I went with +5mm offsets both front and rear.
The Forgestars have been 100% troublefree. Based on advice I got from others, I passed on the cheap lug bolts that Forgestar sells and picked up a nice set of black anodized tuner lug bolts from World Motorsports --I believe they were made in Japan. Zero issues. They hold air as well as any OEM wheel too, and I check air pressure frequently.

And thank you Seattle for updating!

Eh, nothing, they're just a myth!
Level one being rev limited ignitions, level two being anything / everything above rev limiter (i.e., ricky bobby drops it from 5th to 2nd and gets 9k RPM - that's a level two). But something makes me feel like you know that already...
Thank you sir, watching your rebuild with great anticipation!

Oh, sorry, wasn't trying to sound snide. From what I have seen, Over-revs are a hotly debated subject, to the point of almost becoming an "oil thread" among some PCar guys. There are debates about Level 2 over-rev implications, legitimacy, etc.

So I’ve made a few changes to the car. I had to take the GT2 spoiler off to better secure it. While it was off, I decided the original spoiler looked a little more refined – so it went back on.
As well, the 19” Champions were too big, and I couldn’t find a set of forged 18s that I couldn’t live without… so I ordered a set of Forgestars “raw” to put on in the meantime.
I took the wheels to a local powder coater, who showed me a color called “black chrome”. Obviously not actual black chrome, but a neat color for sure. I didn’t think I wanted gloss, until he showed me a sample – and I was sold. Strapped set of Yoko Advan Neovas on them in 235/40 and 295/30. Here they are on the car (keep in mind, this was shot with a wide angle lens that distorts the camber slightly):
I’m actually pleasantly surprised by how well they turned out. Not sure that I will replace them now, unless I come across a killer set of forged wheels someone is getting rid of.
Next up: coilovers. Need to get rid of the 4x4 look. Probably won’t track the car, but if I do, it would only be a DE day here and there… so not looking for a race setup. May go the tried and true PSS10 route. Would have preferred a more cost effective solution though!

I went 235 front for few reasons, in no particular order:
1) The car had 235s on it when I purchased it, and the front had good front end feel, so I didn't want to go "backward".
2) I have read these cars understeer, and many folks go 235 as a partial remedy for that - but only having driven it with 235s, I cannot tell you exactly how much difference there is.
3) Porsche likes the F/R heights to be exact, if not slightly taller in the front - and going 235 put me slightly taller in the front (so the rear turns more rotations, hence a slight amount of power is being put to the front wheels). Could be hogwash, but doesn't hurt.

The car had B-stone RE050s on it, which really aren't comparable. The Neovas seem like they have near endless grip in the turns. Very predictable traction near the limit (in my modest opinion).

my post is mid-way down the page #324
My friend MotoJB bought the Yoks in factory 225/295 sizes before we realized that the tires were the exact same height. So I ran some numbers on the 235s and they will work well with the 295s.
I've been waiting since the summer to try them out, and now that my current tires are done, I'm ready for the 235/295s!

then try using the H&R sport lowering springs. it'll be a near perfect setup height wise, for any dual duty car, and it'll eliminate the amphibious look and stance. a bit *harsher* ( street ) ride and feel, but it'll be well worth the 500 bucks. or just get coilovers for a few grand lol

I read that thread (as well as likely 100 more) before making a decision. So yes - I am absolutely trying to do the right thing as far as setup goes. As you point out, 25.3"F and 25"R are near perfect for this car.
Sadly what was on the car when I purchased it worked out to be (off the top of my head) 25.5"F and 26.3"R - nowhere near correct.

Figured that might be part of your question.

Done...will sneak out for a little canyon drive tomorrow at lunchtime.

Look forward to your feedback... may make me feel better about my (admittedly uninformed) perspective. Hope they're great!

I'll take the car for a spirited run in a few weeks, schedule permitting.

Again, I am not an educated individual when it comes to 4 wheels, but these tires gave me tons of feedback, and plenty of notice when they were unhappy. Super impressed, especially for the money paid.
