Maybe take a look for some used wheels. You've got to be careful because there is some risk doing this, but I got some low mileage HREs a few months ago for 3500 shipped and they are absolutely amazing. About half price. Here is the thread: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ebody-fit.html

This is false.

HRE FF01's for 996 widebodies start at $625 per wheel // $2,500 for the set.

And I'm sorry but HRE is the industry standard when it comes to quality and durability.

I have a Cobb Accessport with several custom tunes by Sambo. Works great.

Regarding the Forgestar wheels, they're not the most expensive wheel out there but after nearly 2 years on my car I have had zero issues with my 18" Forgestars. The finish is still like new (ok, it's only been 5K miles) and they balanced easily with not a lot of weight. They also hold air like the stock wheels, and I check them every few weeks. I have no issues recommending them--with the caveat that based on feedback here I bought quality tuner lugs (made in Japan) instead of the crappy ones that Forgestar sells.

had a 6000$ set of hre 3 piece wheels. couldnt drive over a speed bump without the rims bending and adding air on a weekly basis due to leaks. you couldnt give me a set of hre flow formed or anything else. yrmv but in my eyes they suck. they start at 695. price a set of 9 wide and 12 wide and the price jumps considerably
actually bogart or fikse or ccw would be the industry standard unless bling is your standard

For those interested in HRE FF01's for their 996TT's - the highest price you can spec these wheels to is $3,000 for the complete set. I'd just like this correct information to be provided to the public.

I can't comment on the HREs, as I've never owned them.

Re: Forgestars, I paid around $1566 delivered, but that included super deep rear concaves, which cost a few hundred more...plus I bought in state so had to pay the taxman.

i have a set of cf5 in gt2 fitment and width shipped from a shop in cali to tn for 1389$. the o/p was actually looking for a CHEAP set and i guess thats all about someones perspective but personally i dont see 3000$ as a cheap set in any stretch of the imagination

At $3000 you are getting close to true forged wheel territory. To spend that kind of money on a flow formed / cast wheel would be silly.

With the new discount they're having they're actually $1289 in GT2 sizes shipped to your door. I've had Forgestars on most of my cars and even bought my dad a set for his Mclaren . All of which have had no problems with any sets.

Thanks all,

As I am wheel shopping, looks like 18" Wheels Options for a 996 Turbo are a little limited. Wheel manufacturers and shops have way more selection in 19" than 18".

Those with 18" what wheel size and offset and what size tires?

Any recommendations regarding lugs? Does anyone put Wheel Locks on their Porsche?

I like the HRE R101 as well as the Forgestar F14 and CF5

http://www.forgestar.com/wheels/coll...ck-series/cf5/

I like the Avant Garde M550, M580, M590 but they don't come in 18"

Forgeline CF3, DE3, VX3 also look gorgeous, but they are $1,600 each.

Would love to see some more pictures (and yes I have searched here and online first)

THANKS
