Frunk Latch Adjustment?

My front trunk is loose, rattles up and down. HOwever when I adjust the rubber stops to stop the movement, the trunk then sits up higher then the fenders and bumper. Is there a way to adjust the latch? I've done some searching, found a few threads around, but nothing that was in any detail.

You sure it the latch adjustment and not the latch is loose or even broken?

The latch by itself doesn't keep the lid from rattling.

The front trunk lid is kept from rattling by when the lid is properly latched this compresses the spring in the two lid stops -- one at each forward corner of the lid -- which then pushes the lid against the latch and keeps movement from happening.

When closing the front trunk lid I have to push down -- at the point directly above the latch catch to avoid possibly bending the front trunk lid -- against these springs to the point the latch catches. I then release the pressure.

At this point the lid is very secure and there is no movement at all.

Just so you know when properly set up the leading edge of the front trunk lid wants to be *below* the back edge of the front bumper and by some amount. Not just a few times has a new owner seeing this step has adjusted the lid stops to let the lid ride higher and encountered odd wind noise.

Yea, I'm pretty sure it's an adjustment (But I don't really know, guess it's time to pull it out). because I still have to push down to have it catch and click. And when I extend the rubber stops, takes a lot of might to close it, but it doesn't rattle (but then sits above the front bumper which isn't normal like you stated).

Spring in two lid stops? Do you mean the rubber stops on the hood? Or in the latch?

Under the plastic trim the latch assembly has 2 10mm head bolts that allow it to be moved 1/2" or so. You should adjust the latch so that is flush with the front bumper, once that is done you can adjust the outside bump stops to put a small amount of pressure on the outside corners of the hood. Lift one side the other will fall, the key is to get everything flush with the bumper.
Make sure not to loosen the latch too much, or it will get way out of adjustment , if it is hitting the catch right in the middle it will just require slightly loosening the bolts and tapping gently down while watching.

Ignore my previous post. I don't know what I was thinking.

I finally got around to checking my Turbo -- I don't drive it every day and it is parked out of the way a distance from me -- but I drove it yesterday to work and at work I opened the the front trunk to have a look and refresh my memory of the trunk related hardware and there's just the latch with two rubber tipped stops but with no springs behind them.

The problem then you are having is almost certainly a latch related problem -- possibly addressed by some judicious adjustment -- and cdk4219 provided you with some good info.
