I know this topic has been beaten to death and I am in the same predicament as all others who used the PS2 235/35 - 315//25. My vehicle is a 2003 911 turbo. No suspension mods. Currently running 8.5/53 and 11.5/44 19" rims with PS2 235/35 and 315/25.
Put these on the car when I bought it new in 03. 18k miles and 13 years later and its time for new shoes. I understand the possibilities of the viscous coupler situation as it relates to the front dif. I understand that the current set up is ideal and no longer available (PS2 or PSS) but I would really like to stick with Michelins as I run them on all my vehicles when possible.
Can anyone give me any alternative tire sizes that will work.
I have read that some guys have switched to a 245/35 and 305/30.
Does any one out there have any long term experience with this size as it relates to the AWD 911s differential threat ?
Also, will the 245/35 - 305/30 fit with no rubbing. The 235/35 - 315/25 set up is extremely close.

Alignment nearer gt2 levels of camber than normal turbo. No rubbing issues. Traction is way better than on my 18" stock setup running hankook v12 (came with car). With the 18" I can spin all 4 with hard acceleration in low gears. I have 6000miles with the 19s and my vicious coupling is still working.

 

Many guys runing 245/35 and 305/30 on Wed. If your worried about the diff you can run a 295/30 rear and the ratio is much closer

 

I think that is the most readily available setup but it is pretty tall. Most quit making the 325/25/19.

 

Its a shame that Mich stopped producing a 315. I would have loved to try them in a PSS. I wouldn't mind a slightly taller side wall like the 305 in a PSS as it may help the harsh ride of a 19" (then the wife might enjoy riding in the car) A little worried about the 295 on an 11.5 as it my not look correct. Almost looking stretched. Very close in width. Just worried about inner rubbing with the 245 - 305 set up. Dont get me wrong.. also worried about front diff.

 

Yah sorry I meant 315/25/19. Nitto still makes them if you can find them I think.

 

295 on a 11.5 is going to look pretty stretched here is a 305 S04 on a 11.5" wheel

Thats a nice looking fitment. Looks good at the rim and wheel well. You are running 38 offset and lower than stock ! Im running a 44. How is the clearance on the inner well ? My 44 puts me closer to the inside than your 38. My 315 barely fits a finger at inner lining.

 

If you are willing to roll the fenders and mod the liners you can fit large tires no problem. I run 325/30/19 which are huge. 26.7 tall.

 

Those are huge ! How do you like those Bridgestones? Put a set of those on a car a couple of years ago and haven't had the
chance to run them.

 

Yep they are quite large but needed when you're rwd and going to be pushing 1000hp.
Re-11 is a fantastic tire. Imo the best all around street tire if you are not as worried about wear. The pss last longer but don't have the dry grip the re-11 does.

Re-11 is fantastic in the rain as well and many track guys when them for track tires on rainy days when taking off slicks or semi slicks.

If highly recommend them. Those or the re-71r which is actually slicker than the re-11 but not as good in the rain and wear even faster. Also let sizes available but they are available in 245/305 on 19s

 

1000 hp .... unbelievable..... your gonna need something bigger ..lol

 

That's the biggest you can fit really. I'll have drag radials though for track time and some 18s with 275/335 combo for circuit use

 

Has Has anyone out there been running a 245/35 - 305/30 19 set up for an extended period of time that can contest to any viscous coupler/ front diff problems ?

 

I'm running 245/295 Michelin PSS combo on my car. That's the closest I could get diameter wise front to rear. I could step up to 255 front and run 305 rear, but those damn 305s are hard to find!
