BIg Credit to the 996TT

I have been thinking about all what has been said about the 996Tt;And all I can say is that we have to give credit where credit is due..
This car came out over 4 years ago and has set the performance standard for all the competition to catch.. I realy dont like reading about how this car is gonna be faster and this other car will be better.
the 996TT has been a car that has for the past 4 years been the car to beat at just about ANY price. It has a great track record as far as reliability and has and will ALWAYS be something to look at..
I feel that this car has taken the sports car to a whole other limit.. Just think back in 01 and try and remember what other car would do 0-60 in 4 seconds!! What other car would handle like that and what other car would have the reliability and looks of the TT..

Yea,now we look at it in a slightly different way, but for the past four years that car kicked *** in EVERY department!!

Long live the 911 turbo!!

Developed in the 90s'

I made a similar comment a few months ago. What people do not realize is that the turbo really came out in 2000, so it was developed and put to bed in the late 90's. Way ahead of its time. With the ability to mod one, I do not see any reason to drive any thing else. It is a true legend and superstar. I really do not know why someone would buy a 997 over a warrantied turbo. All the talk of some car beating it, is always a car that was developed in the last year or two.

Thats what I mean.. All in all the car is sick and is the car to DRIVE and not look at. You gotta ask yourself something; If I had to drive one car for the rest of my life, what would it be??
IMO, the TT is the car to drive anywhere. It has 4wheel drive, its fast as a *****, it handles great, Its very reliable, and its a Porsche!!

I think we are all comparing the 996TT to whats coming out now and comparing the competition to the 996TT.
reguardless, I feel that the 996TT has made a place in the automobile industry as being one of the best cars ever!! Period!!

I agree, this is a point that is missed by many people.

I'd trade my Turbo for a Gallardo right now.. any takers? ;-)

But seriously Gallardo looks damned good, but I like the modability, reliability and "practicality" of the 996 Turbo.

I would also trade my turbo for a Gallardo. I am sure alot of people here would do the same also. But you CANNOT compare a car that has a base price of 65K more than the TT. Its just not fair..
IMO, the 996TT for the money is a great car and will always have a place in my heart as being one of the best all around cars ever made!!

And your right on the money, 996tt is a great, practical everyday sports car.. Meanwhile , whoever wouldnt trade for a Gallardo must be nuts, practicality aside

Call me nuts then The looks of the Gallardo never grew on me and the performance might be a little better then the Turbo S's...If it was a Murcielago it would be a different story cuz I damn love that car but the Gallardo never grew on me.

The way I see it 996 Turbo > Gallardo anyday.

I love the 996 Turbo.
