Stiffer Wastegate Springs?

Can anyone speak of the merits of installing stiffer wastegate springs?

Will they help in quicker spool up?

i am using a 1 bar spring in the waste gate actuators

to experiment if i actualy feel the difference
i used my stock waste gates for about a month
and just switched to 1 bar ones two days ago

the difference is HUGE i see 1.2 in second
it feels like a different car.

I have the ultimate motorworks done by Kevin... 1.0 bar spings... billet wastegates.... however.... u cant just put these on a stock k16 and expect great results....
both Calbobba(Boris) and I have the same stage 5 zero clearance turbos.....
its a whole different car......
BTW... my stage 5 tuning package is for sale....
a pic of the turbo with the billet wastegates....

I have a K24 factory car. Headers or ported factory manifold and zero clearance turbos would be a nutural progression after the 1 bar wastegate springs.

Although in may case, the turbos would be a relatively inexpensive trade in.

Any interest in selling your wastegate actuators?

Do you need new programming when installing the springs?

I really doubt it. The turbos are simply spooling faster. Your car has maps for RPM/FUEL/Throttle opening/etc...

no u dont need a reprogramm.... stiffer springs hold boost, unlikr the dreaded k24s with stock actautors.
also, u get on boost alot faster.... and the boost doesn not drop... like from 1.2 bars to 1.1 for example in higher gears.
however, if the turbo is not specked out then ur overworking the turbo... and exceeding its efficiency.
so on a stock k16 i wold not suggest it. thats why my stage 5 zero clearance turbos kick ***.
I raced a gsxr 1000 on the highway and he was very surprised when he couldnt pass me up

K24madness is infamous around these parts
I have used the TIAL upgraded springs on stock K24's. It did not alter peak boost. It did help performance in the midrange. Not a 100% sure but I thought the springs were 10-12 pounds (stock 8 pounds). The Tial springs can be purchased with all of the parts required for the conversion.

How much for a set, and how hard is it to do? I have k24's.

Hmm interesting, so this would have no effect on stock k16's, just k24's with over stage 4 tuning and bolt ons im assuming?

No they are saying this helps with all cars that are running higher then normal boost (Stock is around .8, modified is 1.1-1.2 Bar). So even a stg 1 car with a chip upgrade will find this beneficial.

Yea i kind of figured that.. But my car at stage 2 isnt boosting 1.1-1.2.. I can hit 1.1 in first gear or in a high gear putting a big load on the turbo's when they are spooling, other than that 2nd, 3rd or 4th i pull a steady .9 Do you think i should do this?

Im running 1.2 bar springs billet wastegates... I have stock wastegates as well... and what a difference....
boost comes on quicker.... way faster... and it holds peak boost all the time... not like a stock actuator that drops down as Martin described. I get 1.3 bars in all gears.....
if u check evoms ms site.... look under the stage 4 x-50 tuning package.. ull notice that that what they do to the k24s....
