I had my transmission fluid replaced the other day by MindOverMotorsports (thanks Brad), the car shifts a lot better now. Initially, it was a bit rough when downshifting from 3rd to 2nd, but now it's not happening anymore.

I know that BG makes a good tranny fluid, BG Syncroshift. I used it in my 3000GT VR-4 with a Getrag tranny many years ago. It did wonders for the tranny. Redline MTL is good as well, but there are rumors that it accelerates syncro wear. Read the whitepapers on their site and make your own decision.

It's OEM fluid. There's DIY at www.renntech.org. You need a pump to push the fluid, it's a time consuming process.

I just changed Amsoil 75W90 to Redline MTL and difference is noticeable. Gears just fall in perfectly, even my notchy second gear is perfectly pleasant now.
I do not know how Redline is supposed to wear synchronizers faster, if it obviously provides better lubrication.

Not sure you can assume better lubrication.

One is dealing with physics when shifting. These engines produce a lot of torque and as a result the transmission components have to be built to withstand this. Among other things this means the components are heavier. It takes time for the synchros to spin up the slower gear set so the shifting can take place without the crunching.

The faster shifting can be the Red Line fluid provides less lubrication and the synchronizers thus spin up quicker and thus experience more wear.
