Aftermarket wheels and the 4x4 effect

So my dad is picking up some new wheels (19" iForged Essen) and will be putting them on his 996TT with a stock suspension. My question is, how horribly high up will this make the car look? (Any pictures of Turbos with 19's and stock suspension?) I know for my car, before I lowered it, I looked like I was in an SUV. Is this also the case with these cars?

Sorry for sounding ignorant

Thanks for the help

Thanks for the picture

Yeah, fender gap is still there.

I am just afraid that my dad will not like the idea of putting a C/O kit on the car, as he would like to keep the car as stock as possible (minus the wheels of course )

He can add either the ROW kit, which is what the car is equipped with in Europe, or he can add the factory coilover suspension, X73, which is factory engineered for the 996 turbo.

I know of a used ROW suspension that will be up for sale within the next couple of weeks if anybody is interested.

Very happy with the X73 setup. Night & day from stock, simple upgrade, good ride, much better when driven hard.

It will look like a 4x4 with 19's and low profile tires. Worse in the front than back but just b/c you asked the question means something will have to be done. Lot's of options but might as well do suspension instead of just springs unless cost is an issue.

Well, considering my car is done, modding-wise, I am living vicariously through my dad now with his car

So yes, once he gets the wheels on and see's the gap, it's going to bug him, and he'll drop it. I will tell him about the x73 setup. It's just going to depend on how big the gap is and how long he's willing to put up with it I guess...

I mean, he put aftermarket wheels on my moms car, and then lowered it a week later because it looked "like crap" with the wheel gap, so who knows

Thanks for the help guys!

You got that right......any more pics of her?

What color is the car in question? Black cars don't look too bad with 19's and factory suspension. The roads in my town are horrible so lowering isn't really an option for me.

His car is black. Thanks for the pic TSG.

Yeah, we have some rough roads around my house so that may hinder his getting a suspension, but we will see

Oh also, TSG, where did you get those smoked/clear side reflectors, the ones that replace the stock amber ones?
