"Free is expensive"???????????" What the "#$%? Whats wrong with you guys? I know a thing or two about repairing cars and let me tell you something I'd be surprised if the chassis was affected! Still, the car obviously has to be checked and has to be repaired by someone who knows his job but if you can have it repaired for 1/4 to 1/2 price GO for it and never sell it again! My car is a "unfrallfrei" certified car(no accident in German) but if I had the chance to have one for 1/2, I would.

Any car remotely involved in a wreck like that, I would stay the f54k away from. That looks terrible,,

+25K to repair? Better double that or more. I got rear-ended two years ago. Damage was limited to rear deck and spoiler, bumper cover, bumperettes and a small section of the engine tray. Damage was $16K

I was just low balling the 25k figure. I have no idea what that car would cost to repair, but I know it is expensive.

why not just buy it and part the entire car out?
motor, wheels/tires/suspension (assuming no damage) interior bits etc...

All this poor dude was looking for was if anyone knew the car or not!! Now he's getting an on-line *** whopping and deservedly so as he had to expect it posting on a public forum. Like the old saying goes, "a fool and his money are lucky to get together in the first place"!! let him do his thing and fall on his face or succeed. Many of us would not even think about buying a car with a salvage title / wreck history but hey... to each his own right?? At the end of the day, no grown man likes to be told what to do especially a bunch of cocky F%$#kers that own (or wish to own) a supercar!

By the way, I don't know this car!

This car has a "Parts Only" rating.

Yea you are exactly right, but alot of people seem to know what they are talking about as well and are advising soemone who can't afford a non-wrecked turbo at this time or w/e, that it might not go as planned and could cost as much as buying an 01 that was never in an accident..

I feel its taking the cheap route to own such a car, and it would suck very much if he did get it and found out it would cost ALOT more than he expected.. We all gave the heads up, and like you said a grown man should make his own decision and take it from there

Grewal- it's tough to tell the damage on the car eyeballing the pics. In some respects looks like an easy fix, but from a certain look it looks pretty bent structurally. I don't know the car, but the color combo is one of the most common for Turbos, especially '01 and '02 models.

You can do a little homework and find the previous owner and learn more about the wreck and the damage. If it's been sitting for a year and nobody's picked it up to repair, there may be a good reason, or not, as people can buy used Turbos relatively cheaply. You really need to have someone give a good look at the car and see what has to be done. Remember, also, that after the body peeps are done with their job, there is prolly significant work to be done re wiring, molding, motor since the car has sat out in the elements open for a year.

If you shoot me the VIN in a PM, I may be able to trace the former owner.

This is all good advice but the car has a "parts only" designation. Does that not mean exactly that?

I know that car it was owned by Jack Quinn from S. Florida, he is gay **** star. Story behind the wreck is that his gay lover was ummm, how do i put this "was in Jacks lap doing his thing" and Jack lost control because he blanked out and didnt see the turn coming up. It was in a local newspaper. People say he jizzed all over the seats and the shifter.

Enjoy it in good health!
