There's not too many things better than helping spend somebody's else's money on a Ruf, although everyone else has already weighed in on the good stuff. Let me make one observation on the rear tires. I "only" have 315's on mine, and have found that to get use out of tread even that wide you need some serious negative camber. On the track, you can use the whole tread, but on the street you are essentially driving on the inside couple of inches of each tire, which leads them to wear unevenly (and quickly). There aren't a lot of places that carry the tires, and even fewer that I trust to mount them on wheels that cost as much as my parent's first house. Before you get a set of 355's, I would find out how available replacements are and who has experience in working with them.
Sounds like an awesome car-I look forward to the pics!

Congrats. That is one of those once in a lifetime cars.
Will the RWD option come with stability control? I woudl consider that a necessity for driving on the street. No matter how good you are as driver.

so premature wear due to the car's natural negative camber is definitely a cause for concern.
...as is the possibility that tire mounting equipment available here would not be able to deal with such extreme rubber.
we will certainly think have to think about this. thanks again! (and thank god for the internet and 6speeders! )

our car is AWD, and again I believe it still has the Porsche electronic safety nets...

Hesperus,
PM replied.
Regarding the tires, the camber is an issue if you want to use the car on track and also street, since no setup is besy for both. If your car is delivered with stock Ruf settings, it will be great on the road, very stable and will wear the tires evenly on road use. If you take the car on track and push hard, with the wide tires, you will wear the outer edges. The remedy for this is the extra negative camber. This then makes the car grip better on track and wear evenly, but then on the road the car is less stable and wears in the inner edges of the tires. I had my GT2 changed from stock setting to quite aggressive camber and it improved the track grip and wear dramatically, but it is now much more sensitive and edgy on the road. If you leave your car stock and do mainly road driving, then you'll have no issues at all.

Can't wait to see the car! I'm meeting Marc Bongers here tomorrow in Stockholm so I'll make sure to ask about this wonderful car!
About white, have a look at this Audi RS4 special color.
Wether it is a special white or the "Suzuka grey Pearl effect from quattro GmbH" as my friend who drove and ordered the RS4 said it is I don't know but looks very good.

Thanks.
I can't understand why you would specify Bilstein back and Ohlins front.
Here's our car, with Ohlins (not hydralic, no lift). Note the custom made black anodized (spelling?) containers. We will show this to Marc tomorrow.
For me there is a huge gap between Bilstein and Ohlins Hydralic. We use a Ohlins setup which is about a little more than half the cost of the hydralic, but if you need to lift the car due to how the roads look it's another matter. We're more into performance, and the hydralic are heavier.

He just emailed yesterday saying our car would have Ohlins fronts with Bilsteins at the back. And I agree with you completely! Should be Ohlins all around!
how heavy are those hydraulic mechanisms anyway? the roads in our country are HORRIBLE.
