Lost power to Gauge cluster

Hello all

It's been a while since I'm on here. I've been enjoying my 996tt all year. The other day while driving, everything inside the car shut down. Car still run, I was able to turn the radio back on, but the gauge cluster was death. Needles froze where they were. I was on the highway so I kept on driving. About 5 minutes later it's back to normal. Just wondering anyone else experience such thing? Loose connection?

May be another symptom of a bad ignition switch..... Cheap and easy to replace to eliminate this possibility.....
