i have the loud one, and well, it's quite loud.
a 3.5 hour drive from LA to SF will give you a headache for 1 day. although, admittedly, i've gotten quite used to it and i would never consider removing it - to me, it's the spirit of the car.
i heard james (from sharkwerks) drive away yesterday when he dropped me off @ the train station and it sounded *quite* nice

Best of both worlds with this one!
I have the medium, but I honestly think it depends on the driver (what he/she likes) and you will never get the answer you are looking for!
I sometimes turn radio off as I love the sound of the car especially when you put the foot down, and the sound in tunnels is pure awesome. Other times when travelling long distances I have radio on and it can get on your **** a bit, Yip! around the 2500 mark it's even more annoying! but hey if you want the power and can stand the sound, then it's one hell of a system, you will be happy.

I have the loud, and recently drove from dc to West Palm...980 miles nonstop. It wasn't bad at all. The resonance is heard from 2600-3100 rpm, and at 80-90 miles an hour, you don't really hear it.
If you don't want a loud exhaust, don't buy the fabspeed. If you want a rumbling, mean sounding exhaust, it's your best choice. I can understand why some people don't like it, but I wouldn't swap it for anything on the market, and I've heard them all.

My wife will not go with with me when I have the straight pipes, she says it gives her a headache oh well. She doesnt complain that much about the Fabspeed exhaust and says it bearable ! However my 12yo daughter LOVES the sound of the straight pipes as much as I do.

Martin,
Sorry i didnt see it. I will try to find some footage of when we had a "mini 6speed meet" in South bend at Tire Rack. That is when I had the straight pipes on, right now I put the Fabspeed back on but it will be coming off before I get her out of storage this year as quiet for me. Once I heard the straight pipes I was addicted to the sound, but I did my wife a favor and thats it no more favors for her she is cut off !
I will post some clips ASAP.
