Will a Stage IV EVO Turbo S be quicker than a C6 Z06?

[quote=vincentdds]I wouldn't mess around and go straight to the Evo 640 GT package just in case that certain Z06 modded with headers..ect...ect[

I agree go with the gt 640 if you wanna be sure against a stock ZO6.I have a GT 700 and ran head to head with a C6 Z06 with aftermarket cam, headers, air filter, air box from a 50 mph roll.My car also has straight pipes w cats and 65mm plenum, throttle body and y- pipe. The ZO6 is no joke.

The Evo 640 GT is enough. No need to drain your pocket on GT800 just to beat a Z06. Besides that's another whole different level.

i believe habitat said it best gents! thanks for taking the words out of my mouth. i would take a stock 996tt over a c6 z06, it is just a better but all around car.hell i can put 10grand in a civic hatch back and get it in the 10s, but thats all its good for.hell give it 3months and i'm sure there will be 50 vids of the z06 doing burn out and donuts, how many gt2/3 tt vids of that do you see? these cars are great for driving and the z06....well its good for some poeple but its not so good for me. how about that habitat?again my 2 dam cents.

Thanks for all the replies!
I have contemplated the GT640 or GT700, but when you start adding in the $$$ for those conversions you start getting close to F430 money (at least sticker price of that car). Not to mention I am eager to see what the 997tt has to offer when it is debuted.
Meanwhile, I am very happy with the Turbo S and would not consider a Z06 over the S. However, it is frustrating that the S is slower than the new Z06. I know the Z is brand new technology and the Turbo has been around since '01, but you would think Porsche would have made the last 180 996tt coupes a little quicker to keep up with what is currently on the road.
Don't get me wrong I am not complaining about Porsche. There are just so many quick cars being made now it is tough to decide what you want to stick with. Ten years ago I NEVER would have thought there would be so many sub-4.5 second 0-60 cars available...stock!

Of course it will come down to who is the best driver. But my recollection is that reasonably driven stage 4 TTs mid to low 11s cars. I dont think anyone has driven a Z06 under 11.5. (I could be mistaken, Iam not really interested in a Z06). But drivers being equal I think a stage 4 would pull on a C6 Z06.

what is the $$ figure for intake ,header,ex,and map for thez06,what kinda of #s do you get then? clueless? no . the z06 is a great car ,light, great internals in the motor, ridgid, hugh brakes, and the #s don't lie....it was built based on track tech.the really stepped up to the plate!so you spend 75k on a vet or what ever it takes to attain the same performance figures, hell what ever makes you happy bro.
