I road next to a CGT (yellow) today for a few blocks. I asked the driver to rev it at the stop light (Holy ****), He did a few take offs from 20mph, WOW, I could see my stage 2 turbo having no chance. It is amazing how fast if puts the power down. Can any modded turbos really take a CGT

I dont think Craig would have any problems taking a CGT.

Craigs Beast

Maybe your right, but that CGT is a bad ****. I only will be thinking of buying one (motivation) when I design my next swimwear collection

Yea i often feel like that also.. Like your driving an "exotic" but even when you see a Ferrari or Lambo let alone a CGT, you feel like your driving such a cheap car, but its far from cheap and i love it to death!

Thanks for the kind words.

I pulled up next to a Yellow CGT a week ago on PCH. Beautiful car. It was the perfect opportunity for a great kill. Only problem was . . . . I was driving my wife's 745li . . . and she and my two kids were with me. Next time the CGT is going down.

While I love my car, and Im confident that it is faster than a CGT, there is simply no denying that the CGT is in a different league.

About a year ago, after a Crystal Cove morning gathering, a CGT and a 911 GT750 did several runs from a rolling start on PCH . In most of the runs, the GT750 began to pull on the CGT. This was video taped and posted on some of the forums. Needless to say, it caused endless debate among everybody that saw this display as well as those that participated in the forums.

I was there that day and saw these races. The GT750 did pull the CGT. My only question is were both cars and drivers at their maximum potential, or did the surroundings prevent one or both of the drivers from delivering the best their car could deliver?

Craig, that's when you push the wife and kids out of the car and say "honey, a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do"

Yea, Craig speaks the truth in all of his posts, his 996TT though is out of this world, CGT is truely something special though! I would love a ride in both cars

what Craid said. easy to make a 911 (or vette or viper or skyline or supra) faster than a CGT in a straight line. but the CGT is the real deal for overall performance.

and at the end of the day, a tuned or even custom built 911-- whether from Ruf or Manthey or ANYONE-- is still based on what is ultimately a mass produced vehicle. The CGT represents an entire different philosophy and focus, and exists for an entire different reason than any 911.

I totally agree, there are not many cars I would give up for my RED BEAST but the Carrera GT is definately one of them! I might be able to hang or pull slightly on one but I would rather have a Carrera GT any day of the week. It is an incredible engineering showcase!

I want one NOW!

I know exactly how you feel! There are lot's of exotics here in Dallas! One time I pulled up next to a beautiful 360 at a light, and I sorta got that sinking feeling that you're talking about. When I looked up, there was a bright yellow CGT across the intersection, and I wondered if the guy in the 360 felt the same way. Surely he did!

The Sound (CGT)

That sound alone is worth 400k. It's a good thing most of us are married because if we were not, we would probably take a line on our homes and do something dumb like buy a CGT, I know I would, or just sell everything and live in a Motel 6.
