It sure sounds like it... Are you getting same type of symptoms? - jerkiness at low speed, 1st gear throttle? Did you notice any improvement when you first cleaned your MAF? Hopefully my advice to get the stock, 996TT MAF will save you the trouble of having to deal with 986 MAF compatibility issues. Good luck and let me (as well as the rest of 6speed) know if this fixes the problem.

Yes, jerkiness at low speed / low rpm. The thing is, I don't see the MAF being dirty even before/after I cleaned it. I've reset the code and we'll see how it goes tomorrow when we do a drive to the car show.

I'll order the MAF from Stephen on Monday.

I'll keep you guys posted.

I don't believe that you will physically "see" dirt or contamination on the hot wire in the MAF. It's more subtle than that and extremely sensative to well....anything.

Seems you all ahve 2001 like I do............ just replaced the hoses and I deff had a leak in the old ones. Made a tremendous difference, if you are not getting CEL then you might want to look elsewhere..........

I agree with that. However, if you get the CEL codes P0172 and/or P0175, you might want to consider a MAF replacement; especially if they both occur together.
