PSS9 or JIC cross for canyon driving?

hey guys

The majority of my spirited driving is done in the canyons around LA. The roads are bumpy and imperfect in many ways. What suspension would suit that kind of surface the best? PSS9? JIC? Motons? Or something else?

thanks in advance

Thanks, I guess I'm just worried that the car will be too stiff and skittish over such imperfect roads with a more aggressive suspension. Not true?

All 3 are fully adjustable and are better than stock in any condition. Moton CS of course gets my vote for any condition.

I assume Moton CS is the more expensive option. I'm just looking for better overall, more neutral handling, without spending a small fortune. I've heard many choose JIC over PSS9, what's your opinion?

A lot of so. cal road drivers like the PSS9's. The others are excellent, and a tad more expensive. Ask Ari, M3cab there are more but I dont recall....

Actually, you can probably get the JICs for closer to $2500-2800 I do believe (perhaps even cheaper if you find a sale much like with the PSS9s right now). I would (did) pick them over the PSS9s if I had to choose between the two. Motons would be top pick out of the 3, of course, if money was of no concern.

Motons > JICs > PSS9s

Now, you have to decide what version you want...

7/10kg is more for daily driven with little track use. (what I have)

8/12kg is more for half road and half track use.

10/14kg is less road and much more track.

My 7/10kg setup is not harsh at all. It is definitely much more stiff and lower than the stock suspension, but it still feels great on the street. I have lightly driven it at Road Atlanta and it felt wonderful as well. My car feels completely different with the JICS; the way that the car should have come from the factory. The good thing about the JIC system is that you can lower it past that of the PSS9s if you want, but still never ride on the bumpstops (a problem that the PSS9s suffer when you lower past 1-1.25" or so).

dude less than 1% of you including me couldn't come close to negotiating the limits of eventhe stock suspension so actually unless for aesthetics, makes also all the other units complete overkill --> so basically no better than the import playas out there

Well thanks again guys afor the input. Like I said, I'm looking for tighter handling and also to dial out some of the understeer. A responsive, neutral car. But still something that can negotiate the imperfections and bumps of a typical canyon road without losing its composure.

Ruiner:
I think the 7/10 kg is what will suit me best.

Benjamin:
I'm not sure what you are saying?

You have a 15-way adjustable damper settings that will greatly help you reduce understeer. You can will have to play with your settings until you feel comfortable with how the car reacts.

Also, may I suggest getting some sway bars...either GT3 or H&R. You can really stiffen up your car and dial out understeer even more so... The combination will allow you to go rather neutral or even dial in oversteer if you want.

I hope more than 1% of the guys (& gals) on this forum are at or above the limits o the stock setup. I ran stock for 1 year at the track and autoX and the car was weak. Upgraded to PSS9's AND gt3 sways and it's a completely new car. Spend the money, it's the single best investment you can make. Overkill, maybe for a grocery getter.......
