Seal Gray Turbo for $103k
I can't get this "project car bug" out of my A#%
At a local Porsche Dealer, I found a seal gray 2002 X50 turbo with black/carbon interior for $103K. Has 8,000 miles, but 1200 on a new motor. I knew the owner of the car and he blew his motor from missing a down shift at a high speed. It comes with full warranty......Is it worth it?

is the price negotiable at all? 103 doesn't sound THAT great for a 2002, espeically considering the new motor will hurt you on resale (which is backwards in my opinion, but none the less the way of the world).
By the way, how do you like the FX45? I'm thinking of picking one up as my daily driver.

Shank, I think I know the car ... Chicago area?
I looked at it. I had to really wonder about a car that was probably abused (regularly dragged). I had big concerns about the tranny and don't consider the X50 to be worthwhile. Get a new one ('03) off someone’s floor for a little over $105 and then mod it to what you want.

Yep, dragged alot. Infact we used to drag together, and he used to spank Vipers with that thing. He had it tuned from FVD. Now the car is back to stock.
Where can I get an 03 for 105-ish??

I would also be warry of this car's tranny or any other drivetrain damage. IMHO stay away from it. You're gonna mod it anyway so the X50 is nearly worthless and the fact that it's an 02 isn't really worth all that much. That in mind mind makes it worth negligably more than an 01 you can get for 80grand, and that's not even considering the abuse this car has gone through.

Shank,
from ur car list... doesn't seem like u don't have $ for cars (correct me if i'm wrong )
seriously though it's not worth it since u already know what's done to the car. that why i hate used car because i'm too ****.
anyway, if u want to spare 160k & does not mind a Tip, i know a 04 slate beauty with X50, full carbon waiting for u

For an 02 the price is high, the carbon and X50 bring 0% back in resale value, I could care less what the dealer says when he is selling the car, but when they buy the car back they pay nothing more for it, IMO I would keep looking.
