Making a 996tt handle/feel like a GT3
Hi all,
Having just completed a track day at Yas Marina yesterday, it threw up a few areas I’d like to improve about the car. Although the car was very capable, I’d like to make it feel a bit more direct and precise. I spoke to an owner that had both a 996tt and. 997.1 GT3 and he said the Gt3, predictably, was a lot sharper. Whilst I realise I’ll never get a 996tt to behave exactly like a GT3, it would be good to know if there are any mods, to move it in that direction.
Ultimately, I’m looking for the handling to be more direct and precise; to be more confident in placing the car for each corner.
If anyone can offer any advice, that’d be great. I’m already thinking of a few things other than suspension mods, such as, 997 GT3 shifter mechanism, RSS engine mounts, stickier tyres and a brake upgrade to 997tt discs along with better brake fluid and high temp pads.
Thanks,
Matt

Yep, looking at that option! It's a lot of money if I stick it in the tyre wall though. Also looking at cheaper track cars. Lots to think about!

When I bought mine it had PSS10s with an H&R rear sway.
Then I did NT-01's and an alignment maxing out stock neg camber and it was way better.
Then I did Tarett top hats, cup series control arms, tie/toe rods, drop links, and dog bones; felt much more connected and additional negative camber was huge improvement (attached).
Then did JRZs, GT3 uprights, bigger brakes, GT3 bars, LSD, 2wd, and more aggresive alignment w/more neg camber.
This winter I'm doing refresh/revalve and upgrade to 3-way on the JRZ's with more spring, upsize on the NT-01's to 275/335, GT2 rear wing, and contemplating ditching the interior since nobody ever sits in the passenger seat for more than 15 minutes.
