Budget Turbo to GT2 Front Bumper Upgrade

Looking to start upgrading my 996T with a simple front bumper upgrade. I've read a bunch of forum posts and have a bunch of conflicting answers, so I figure I'll try and ask questions as simply as possible.

I've been using this as my main source of information:

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...n-996tt-4.html

That's for a functional conversion, I'm looking to do a "budget" conversion, which will look aesthetically correct as cheaply as possible.

Am I correct in thinking all I need is:

Front Bumper Cover

Center Top Grille
(6) Allen Screw (secures grille)
(6) Hexagon Nut (secures grille)

I have a FRP front bumper already, which has the front lip and air inlet trims already fixed to the cover. I was hoping I could get away with buying the center top grille and fettle my existing turbo parts instead.

Is the wheel arch liner required? If not, this will save me approx. $300

Are the headlight trim brackets required? If not, this will save me approx. $300
If so, are the gakets required?

No need for the liners or the headlight trim. You need the bumper extension for tow hook, and center vent grille. Later on you cant cant the front rad and add the chimney stack behind it.

The chimney isn't required right? I believe I can just space out my existing tow hook?

Has anyone documented something similar to this?

Thanks for the reply

Correct. You don't really need anything other than the front bumper cover and center vent. Most are probably just like that done for looks.

Mike Kelley did a real nice write on adding a GT2 bumper on a Turbo. It should provide you some ideas and lots of pictures.
