electrical

hey bojan,

i remember somebody saying on our phone call that it might very well be that the cd install was drawing power incorrectly thus causing problem...wink wink.

hope you get your dough back.

always consider electrical in these light instances...when maf fails it too causes uneven draw.

best,

sean

hahah, Sean is correct. He actually did mention that the install could be drawing power thus causing the engine mishap. I forgot to give him props.... (actually I'm still not 100% that it is the problem, as the service team takes ages to call me back)

Wow! That is strange indeed man. I hope nothing else is wrong with regards to electrical if that is in fact the case. Good luck!

Update!!

I thought I would fill you guys in on my horrible dilemma. I was told about a month ago that in fact it was the stereo shop that screwed up the car. The installer drilled (don't know why he didn't check first) through the grommet in the front of the car. By drilling through it, he hit the cars ECU wires, shorting quite a few of them out. Thus, the engine was basically detonating when driving around town.

Overall, the bill is around $20K believe it or not!!!!! Thankfully the stereo shop is covering their mistake. Yeah, I had a rookie installer. Don’t know why they let him work on a $100,000 car. But thankfully the shop and its management are honest and ethical enough to foot the bill without any trouble.

And lucky me, the wiring harness is scheduled to arrive early next week and finally I'll be back in my baby. I only had her for a week or so..., you can imagine what I may be going through. I have a nice set of HRE's just waiting in the garage for her coming home party. Hopefully I'll be joining the Seattle crew on some nice drives here on out.

Regards,
Bojan

I wrote you a PM a while back, and you did respond. I'll get in touch with you again once the car is in my possession.

Thanks,
