I have had it for 3 weeks. I bought the car bone stock in Sept 05. I a matter of 4 weeks I did the stage 2. Then I went to the stage 4. The stage 4 from a stage 2 was a huge jump. It really pushed you back in your seat when the boost hit. Then when I went from stage 4 to gt640 it was not a huge jump. I miss that sunken feeling when you punch it. Don't get me wrong, the gt640 is very fast but its deceptively fast. The gt640 car just drive differently - no lag and linear. I am looking for that huge jump again and I hope that the gt700 scratches that awkard itch once and for all. But I know that itch will creep back in.

I don't think you will get that huge jump going from the 640 to the 700. I never really noticed a bid difference. I feel the 700 kit simple completes the 640 - fuel system and intake - and is better off for it. You will need more turbo to get that sensation imo. (ie gt800)

I think there is a difference. I have my wastegates bumped a hair and the stock 91 file is pretty silly at that point. The 700 also has the 100 octane file which is insane. Not to mention it sets everything in play for the bigger kits. FWIW we all know Jags needs a little help. He has HP junkie syndrome…

Stephen, I need this. I'm showing brief holding periods of 1.2 bar (3-4 seconds) and then it's 1.1 city & a lot of time 1.0. I am going to buy a jack and some stands and want to give the old bolts a little twist (clockwise I believe). How far should I turn them? I've decided that 94 methanol blend produces less detonation in my Suburban (11 lbs boost w water meth injection - no intercoolers), where as I get a little on 91 pure gas. Last month I had the car out for several days and it seemed to run as best as it has since the GT700+ kit. I'm still not seeing the 1.3+ bar (& subsequent TB shutdown) I always got with the 640 & FVD intake, despite the 10'C (50'F) air temp . Hence... I believe it's time to twist the bolts. Should I do a 1/4 turn and test? A 1/2 turn?

Sorry to hijack, but I hope this post is in the spirit of this thread.

Mike

I heard that using 100 octane gas regularly requires more frequent oil changes. Is that correct?

Nope not really. Only if the AFRs are so rich that ot dumps fuel. It otherwise makes no difference.

On the wastegates Mike, turn a turn each.
