Identify Exhaust Parts?

Just received the exhaust that i purchased from fellow board member Lei - great experience!

when opening the box, i found this little nut/bolt floating amongst the styrofoam peanuts.

i then located this "port" that is threaded and seems to be the female end of this unknown part. since i only have one piece, i hopefully can reuse one from my stock exhaust. but what is this for?

Thats the bolt that holds your engine to the transmission . . . if it is not installed perfectly, your entire car will fall apart.

Hope that helps.

I am not a pro, but I think it is a cap for an air/fuel "bung"(mechanic used that word..not me). I just had my exhaust installed that I got from a board member also, and he had fabricated a third O2 sensor "bung" before 1 of the cats for an O2 sensor for his A/F meter. I then asked my mechanic why the the exact same hole and screw were there(like yours)... he said it must have been for a sensor for a A/F meter that doesn't utilize a regular O2 sensor. Like I said I am not a pro, just repeating what my mechanic told me.

That's definitely a port for a 3rd party unit. Perhaps for a wideband O2 sensor? That would be an ideal location for it...

Craig your too damn funny! Just using the terminology my mechanic used. I thought it sounded funny also. Worst thing was since I had the third O2 sensor with my exhaust, I needed a "bung" hole plug.... ...good thing my mechanic had an extra O2 sensor to plug the "bung" hole up.
