The main difference is RWD vs AWD. On the drag strip RWD allows great weight transfer and an explosive start. With AWD you are fighting bogging or wheel hop. You don't see Top Fuel dragsters running AWD.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, but many people here just don't seem to get it. Peak dyno numbers only mean so much... actually it doesn't mean ****. It's how the engine makes the power that counts, or the "area under the curve." It's amazing how many people here get suckered into buying tuning packages so they can brag about their dyno numbers. Performance is what counts, not numbers off some crappy DynoJet.
