It sounds like Alex will never stop exploring and trying new things
with the P-car powerplant. Thanks guys for a great thread,
very cool all the shared info. This is going to be the best year ever
for tortureing the Supra/Viper Crowd/C6-Zo6 All of this talk has got
me thinking about new mods as well.

O.T. when does the Pinks episode air and what car is on the show?
(if you can let the cat out of the bag-that is)

2.1 litres to spool a GT42R .. woah! I've only ever seen that on a dedicated drag car. Love to see you guys pushing the envelope.

New motor for your tt. I'm surprised considering your 2200 lb GT40R turbo rocket. Now you really have me baffled.
Todd did the finall program on the Motronic. This car is afterall a boulevard cruiser (3800lb), not a race car. That is why I opted to leave the stereo system and all the ameneties. Like I said before, I wanted a 9 second 1000hp+ RELIABLE daily driver that my grandmother could drive to the grocery store with the A/C and stereo blasting...and that is what I got....

As for a new motor (since I now have an extra M600 Motec box), given the results of this Protomotive build, I think its time to build a 'race' version of this car . After talking with Todd, it is possible to build a RELIABLE 260mph, 8second street-strip car......well one way to find out....my first thought would be to twin turbo the CGT, but after some research we are going with a different donor...

Getting back to the subject of this thread, i believe that for a daily driver, you should not opt for anything bigger than the GT28 Turbos AKA
(EVOMS GT700 Turbos). As for the ones who see Craig as their idol. What i can see is that Craig might be putting the GT35R or GT40R very soon on his car. Correct me on that Craig.... ??

P.S. Did you get in contact with 9ff regarding the gear mod ?

That begs the question - What's the most that can be extracted from the 996TT with a pair of GT28 turbos, given head work, cams, better intercoolers, internals and the appropriate programming. THIS my friends is the $64000 question.

You know... saying a small turbo is good enough is almost the same as when a girl tells you that size really doesn't matter. Not that any girl has told me that before. Heck that's what RedlineRobert told me that girls say to him. A turbo is never too big. And same with girth.

Looking at the Garrett website, it does not recommend GT28's for displacements above 3.0L.

good question... and we will just wait and see.... the intercoolers or lack there of one is the biggest mystery to me... those stock, even gt2 FIN type intercoolers really do not do justice... and I was surprised that they didnt make them 2 years ago as a kit...

But wouldn't this be like 2 GT28's on 2 1.8L engines - suggesting in a twin turbo setup, 6.0L would be max displacement?????

GT2871-R

* Ideal for saller displacement engines making up to 475 hp.

* Ideal for twin-turbo applications on medium size engines making up to 800 hp.

Horsepower 280 - 475
Displacement 1.8L - 3.0L

A little confusing eh?

I kinda doubt it. The GT30Rs already have more lag than I would prefer.

Yes!! And I expressly thanked you for the lead. You must have missed the thread where I discussed it in detail: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ad.php?t=44267 .
