Sad
That video shows why rules need to be followed. The crash was unfortunate. The car failed tech initially, was patched at the last minute and the driver was allowed to run although he didn't have the required experience. Expert opinion I have heard and read says the driver shifted down several times after the tire delaminated. Sad to say he was allowed to run, sometimes big bucks and international exposure opportunities sway the promoter. OTOH the car had one hell of a cage. There was no injury. Think safety ,think rules and select your event carefully!

shark,
one thing worth noting: this crash happened at an SSCC [silver state classic] event, a different organization than we run in [MKM is ours]. SSCC has lower safety standards leading to this type of ignorant, unskilled driver running too fast for his skills.
MKM has much higher and more consistent safety standards
