Valentine one is the ONLY RD for me. I have driven from FL to CA 2x and from TX to CA 2x and from IL to CA 1x and it has NEVER let a trooper get one over on ME! It has saved me just on those trips from at least 6 tickets.........

Amazing

I have a V1 that I use religiously as well. I don't use it in my Accord too much though so I'm thinking if I should just sell it versus letting it sit around.

Well..............if driving somewhat faster than the 'posted' is something you find occaisionally enjoyable, then yes, a detector will 'help' .

Seriously....lots a good ones out there........and 70% of it is what you get used to. Like others, I'm very 'used to' the read-out info & performance of V1. I still think they are great & I keep mine up in program.......I have similer custom mounts in 4 vehicals (3 Pcars and the AMG).

Where do you guys have your V1 mounted? How easy or difficult is it to install in the 996tt? Do you guys have it hard wired or just plugging into the cig lighter?

I chose the Beltronics RX65 after a lot of info search, but the good thing about the Valentine One is that its "upgradable" online, but thats its dowside too. Many have just been upgraded and well upgrades are software, the hardware has not changed. Got a lot of my info off http://www.radarbusters.com/support/...mendations.asp
HOPE THIS HELPS...

USCTrojanMan29:

Hardwired all the way...just dismantle the overhead console assembly and tap into one of the switched circuits, its a piece of cake...no need to have the cig lighter cable bouncing around..looks tacky IMO.

This is an easy mod you can do yourself.

Forgot to add, V1 all the way...also just installed a K40 laser defuser LD5500 in the front grille, just below the number plate...just one more layer of protection.

I have my V1 mounted to the right of the rearview mirror. I hardwired the wire to actually my sunrrof controls. Powers on when the car is started, and turns off whenever I turn the car off and open the door. If I do not open the door the radar stays on. Guess that is part of the circuitry so you can open or close your sunroof before you actually open the drivers door after the car is shut off. I could not find a good circuit that would cut on or off the V1. I also installed the remote unit on top of the steering wheel in front of the tach.
