Spark Plug Installation
Sorry to ask such a silly question but the search option is still not functioning...
My mechanic is claiming to change the spark plugs on my 2001 Turbo, it will take him all day approx 4-5 hours. He says he has to remove the exhaust and the turbos just to get access to change the plugs. Is this correct or does he not know what he is doing? How long (hours) should it take just to replace 6 spark plugs from your guys' experience? Just want to know if he is trying to overcharge me ($75 per hour at 5 hours) or if he is being honest with the time...thanks for your input.

$375 is a fair labor charge,
everyone does them differently.
I watched mine being done. Back bumper stayed on,
turbos stayed on. passenger side is most difficult, they access through
fender liners and the trick is playing--jerking around with the heat shield.
4 hours. Put in the hotter #6 plugs--OBVIOUSLY.
good luck.
