what does stage 4 mean?

The problem is that a lot of guys are comparing tuners based on dyno readings, so the tuners have to play the game to get the business.
What impresses me is a time-slip and a trap speed. There are too many launch variables to care too much about ET (for me, anyway). In terms of performance benchmark, 100 km/h - 200 km/h (or 250 km/h), (in mph terms, 60-125 or 155) is a better indicator of power than a dyno reading, as it takes into account the dynamic effect of moving air, and the efficiency of the cooling system in real-world conditions, and eliminates the launch variable (unless of course you're fighting for traction at 100mph, which I know some of you are ). All that's left is the driver's ability to shift quickly.
Plus, all you need is a mile of deserted highway at night to do the runs (average of three or four runs in opposite directions would be nice). The gold standard measurement device costs less than a grand.
Also, although strip performance is nice, what you need to do to the car to break into 10's (in terms of getting a good launch) often compromises the ue of the car in every other way that we love our Porsches. And how often are you hitting it from a stop-light? If the answer to that is 'a lot', you're in the wrong vehicle. Porsches are great highway racers, but they're not designed to launch hard all the time.

I actually started out from a stage 2, then went to 3 and 4. Then did the gt640 before the gtr700. So it would be very diffucult and painfull to remember how much $$$ was spent. Your best bet is to call Todd at EVOMS

They dynoed a Z06 in the latest shootout in Car and Driver? Don't know which one. They got like 435 RWHP.
I think a 500+ RWHP 996 will give a Z06 fits.... Maybe not in first since these cars are not the best drag cars, but anything after that will be a serious race.

GIAC is fantastic product. Stage 4 is a very potent package,

or ran one on my dyno. There is only one in my town that I know
of (Hockey player for the Minnesota Wild). My basis for my
opinion is partly published quarter mile times (ex. EVOMS Stage 4
of Renntechv12 ran a 11.78 before going to his GT700+ kit)
My basis also comes from just learning/discussion/observation
of what parts are included in kits, what are the "stated horsepowers",
and what is actual documented performance. This observation
is not directed at or limited to any Company. This is not to be considered
gospel or anything other than an enthusiast's opinion. I like many
plan on getting an AX-22 this summer and doing some "testing from
the northland"

With my highest trap being 126mph. As stated in earlier threads, it's trap speed, not ET that determines how much power a car is making. On this run I hit the 1/8 at 100mph Here's the run on video:
http://www.scottsdaleexoticcarclub.c...the_strip1.wmv
As you can see it wasn't a good launch at all (as we all know, an ET killer). What other cars trap in the mid to high 120's in a real world scenario (not the magazine adjusted times) It takes a great deal of HP to take a 3300lb+ car down the track that quick.
Here's the dyno sheet from my car as a stage 4:
This is in DIN HP measured at the rear wheels.
FWIW, a friend has a C6 Z06, and I dusted him in several 60-120 runs on the freeway when the car was a stage4.
