Alex, have you ever thought of getting a TT Viper to add to your collection?
Is the Supra a better car than a TT Viper at the same power levels (let's say both have 1200 HP)?

I know this is a really stupid question but in a nutshell why the supra? I have never understood what about the Supra engine allows it such high boost levels and so much power. I know on cars like VRAlexanders a lot of stuff is switches out, but about the Supra makes it such a unique platform?

Sorry for being stupid but this car is before my time

I too would like to know. I know there are tons of them pumping out some crazy power numbers, but why?

I would think the supra could handle the power better, from what ive seen basically! Reliability wise? If done right i would assume similar bulletproof setups!

That is a neat video. What were the mods on the Supra? Was he running race or pump gas? Any idea what his name was? Your 996 seems fast, i'd love to run you on the highway, where are you located?

He's located in NorCal or Las Vegas from what I've heard.

How do you like your Supra vs. your ViperTT?

Mister T (in Houston?),
could you elighten us 6 horizontally opposed cylinder guys how
you get 1478 REAR Wheel Horsepower out of a big V-10 and
what kind of Dyno, gas, and boost pressure you are running ??
Nitrous or not ? Have you done any measured runs (1/4 mile or
other) to put the power to the test? It must be a monster.
Heffner or another powerful tuner ??

Peter,
Jason C. mentioned to me about your 76 GTS TT when it was being built. Very special beast. Love to see you line it up with you know who before he retires it.

Guys, thanks for the kind words, I don't want to stray too far off topic b/c this is not my thread, but I will quickly answer your questions.

WOOD - the Viper has a 510 ci stroker motor with lowered compression. It has a custom front mount 76GTS twin turbo kit. It has all the supporting mods, including FMIC, BOV's, head work, fuel system, mark williams rear end and a g-force transmission. At 25 psi the car made 1,478 rwhp, at around 15-16 psi it makes 1,190+ rwhp. There is NO nitrous anywhere near the car and the 1,478 pull was done on C16. The car was built from the ground up by Racing Solutions (RSI www.racingsolutionsltd.com)

vincent - thanks for the intro, you in Houston? I absolutely love your car!!!!

As for the Viper vs. Supra debate. Like I said, I don't want to take over this thread, but i'll just say this:

Build quality, ride, interior, overall feel - Supra
Raw power, sexiness, mod potential, power deliver - Viper

Thanks all,
Peter

VRAlexander,

Would you be able to disclose the name of the shop which is building your 2JZ-GTE motor?

Cheers!
