Damm now that's CRAZY how your car has not broken 10's yet but will pull so hard in the rest of the gears to get a 136mph trap, wow!

Sometimes I think that trapspeed is a better measuring stick of a car's true performance. There are so many factors that go into achieving ET in a 1/4 mile run (most of which are abusive to your car's components). The modded 996TT's 1/4 mile ETs are not very representative of the car's true power. Porsche has done almost everything that it could to make these cars poor 1/4 milers (super-short 1st gear, tight suspension, AWD,etc.) I've seen other cars that trap at 136mph run mid to high 9's with the same trapspeed.

Launch, launch, launch. I can't seem to get my 60 ft times where they need to be

Here's a run of mine where I whooped up on a Camaro. He had me until the 1000' mark where I blew past him:

best post yet.. I've said the same thing... Your 1/4mile time does NOT indicate how good/bad your car is power-wise. That all comes down to the trap speed. The time itself is a combo of launch, luck, suspension, weight, track conditions, temp, tire, gearing and so forth....

While low ET numbers are great, how many street cars can say that they trap in the mid to high 130's? There are plenty of 10 second mustangs driving around that trap in the mid 120's, if I ran them on the freeway I'd pull away from them like it's nobody's business.

EGG-****ING-XACTLY... I'd see cars running 119mph break into the 10s every darn week. Meanwhile back then I'd be trapping high 120s and barely hit mid 11s. Now with 135+ mph the same guys are saying "you have enough mph for 9s easy, why don't you launch that thing hard" lol....

I agree... those cars in the 120s still run 10s but the 60 ft. is very low...

Now that the videos have been shown to verify the times "Bahrain 966TT" has made.
I would like to congratulate him on his low 10 second passes and believe that the 9's are within close reach.
Good luck and hope you accomplish your goals safely.
Hope to see you soon in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

P.S. It was a shame that none of us was able to participate in SPEEDTRIP 7.
There is always a next chance god willing.

Congrats again and keep us (Porsche Cummunity Enthusiasts) on our toes for more action....SAFELY.

Sharky, u know of all people... thats some crazy .. and I mean crazy 60ft. time. they even got 1.2 and 1.1s...
what do u think? is it possible.. on a 3300 lbs car with 600+ rwhp?
one thing he has going for him is that he has no PSM and its truly a RWD.
I believe It.. unless something comes up on the sensors or something... just a month ago guys were talking sh@t when CHAD said that he will run 1.3s... and look now... how fast opinions change(including mine).

1) GT2 has stock internals. It was actually a RUF 600 before. The GT700 was installed in "Bahrain 996TT" car in his quest for more power.
2) Bahrain 996TT is a longtime customer of EVOMS. - This was already covered in a post in the first few pages.

Hope this helps cure your curiosity !!!!!
Todd,

Was it a Ruf 600. I aware that Ruff made a 590 and now a 650. If it really was one of those then I believe it had to have Ruf titanium steel rods.
