hi guys , i have a small problem in my 996turbo the transmission case is leaking oil i just lifted the car and saw that , the car shifts okay , but its only leaking from the case where silicone is attached to it , i also found out the case bolts where loose , i have tighten them but is better to open down the tranny or just tighted the bolts and leave it the way it is .
i had this problem in the past in one of my other cars i just tightend the bolts and added oil and it was okay
plz reply me with your inputs if you have faced similar problem thanks

It's not the quickest way to get your car back on the road, but it's best to take it apart, clean the surfaces, reapply your sealant, and reassemble. However you could just tighten it up, fill it up, take it around the block, see how or if its leaking, and go from there. But I'm guessing now that the seal is broken, its just going to keep leaking, and be a constant worry on your head as your driving.

my friend just took the car for a quick spin just outside my workshop , so far its okay , we will leave it the way it is till tomorrow so we can check if everything is okay if not , i guess we have to remove the sealer and apply new one , but why did this thing happen

Every 0.1 improvement in the 60' you can expect a 0.15 to 0.25 improvement in ET.

As stated above, trap speed is a very good predictor of engine power. ET is not.

nothing happend to the car , but didnt race it for a long time , the weather here in bahrain is over 130 f at noon and humidity reaches 85 to 90% its to hot to drive or enjoy turbo cars , my next step is to get the new evoms MAF for the GT2 , my other car 996tt gt800 i will bore the engine to 3.8l with new fuel system upgrade a new MAF and a mechanical boost controler , both cars will be ready in few month , will keep you updated
p.s. in bahrain the RT12 best time was 11.8 @ 220 km/h on same track

Yes, I have notice the trend by EVOMS to use a boost controller. I think I have seen this in many of their higher powered kits. I would like to see your times in 60 to 130 but I understand about the heat! A week ago it was over a 100 degress in Texas.
Best of Luck
Robert

how's your car running rob? What did you end up doing in the end? Any 60-130s or 1/4mile numbers? any pix of the set up?
