EVO GT700 - GT2 10.3 @ 211 KM/HR - Post for Bahrain 996TT
This video and time slips were just forwarded to me by 6-Speed member "Bahrain 996TT" They were at an event at the new drag strip in Bahrain. The GT2 that ran these times is equipped with our complete GT700 engine upgrade. BRN also was running his 996TT EVOMS GT800 but broke the rear axle on a hard launch. He hopes to be out there tomorrow with the GT800 to break into the 9's. On a side note, the GT2 also suffered from some axle problems at the end of the day. I know the feeling as my GT800 suffered from the same problem at my last outing. -- See attached photos.
We are in the process of building "bulletproof" axles / CV joints to prevent this from happening in the future. All of the failures were on NEW components and broke on the launch.
This is a video of a 10.6 run earlier in the week.

thank you Todd for posting my time slip for todays event hopefully i will have the video of the run by thursday i will ask todd to up-load it
today event was great the gt700 kit was amazing i believe i could push it little bit more i think the car can do 10.1
the gt800 is a faster car but i cant put the power on the ground it did 10.8@212km/n which is it not bad but my clutch was slipping really bad all the way till end of fourth gear cause i slipped the clutch at launch
the second run in the GT800 i broke the rear axles
we just installed new axles and hopefully tomorrow will break into 9s
wish me luck guys
todd thank you for all the help and support you gave me to achieve those numbers

Having "bulletproof" axles and CV joints off the shelf would be great for all of us with these high hp cars. Myself and VRAlexander have both had to go to custom shops to have these parts made and the downtime is a killer.
The stock axles just won't hold up to this type of power. I guess it is no wonder as the power is about double of the intended use.

I get a twisted sense of security from events such as these. With the number of EVO GT700 and GT800 running out there, I know that the weakest links are being exploited. In result, these kits will be as reliable as claimed when installed. Way to go guys, keep it up.

I wasn't BS'in you at all (and we cover it in first gear). Actually I fully expected you to eat two hats all the time. Like I said before, as for the 8's when we are finished, I don't believe that they are out of the question at all.
