Anyone using Aquamist (methanol injection) ?

On my old turbo cars I ve found aquamist (methanol injection) to be very effective. Anyone using any sort of methanol injection or water injection on a 996tt ? Is it necassary for a 996tt ? I would think that with a good program, some race fuel and water injection you may get better results with hp. Any suggestions feel free thanks in advance

I think the only application being used by anyone here is for cooling the intercoolers...

Are you running 100% meth, or a 50-50 mix with water? I have been considering running meth injection on my car for some time now, but have not come to a conclusion on what to use.
You may not want to read other forums or what have you, but I found this thread to be very helpful and you may too.

Also, methanol or water injection will cool the intake temps, and help with knock much better then it being sprayed onto the IC directly.

When I used it on my old turbo s2000 at first I used 30% methanol and the rest distilled water. Then I got lazy and just used distilled water. I couldnt imagine using methanol on a 996tt would do anything BUT help over all. Any one else wanna chime in with some first hand experience running this on a 996tt.

I have two separate Aquamist systems on my 996TT. The first sprays a 50/50 methanol/water mixture directly into the intake, just before the TB -- it is boost actuated. The second sprays the same 50/50 mixture onto both intercoolers -- this system is also boost actuated, but I have a manual override so I can soak the intercoolers manually whenever I want.

Thats it right there ! Same kit I had on mine, craig question for ya, did you use a seperate resovoir, or did you use your windshield washer resovoir ? Also would you be safe to say that this will give you about another 10-20 hp ?

1. Window washer resovior.

2. I have no idea how much, if any, additional HP is acheived with this system. I think the primary goal is to keep the air cooler on warmer days, so that you can maintain peak boost and timing settings (when other cars may be forced to retard timing and/or reduce boost because of the warmer air flowing into the engine, with a corresponding reduction in power).

Awesome thanks for the info craig.when I owned my turbo s2000 I remember my two dyno runs. The first was with out methanol on 93 octane at 14 psi was 388rwhp. My second run I used the methanol injection and made 401rwhp at the same boost. IMO I think methanol injection is worth the money which isnt even all that expensive. I think with a evoms gt640 kit with methanol injection and race fuel should definatley break the 600 awhp range would you agree ?

Methanol or water injection by itself won't add horse power, or much. Sometimes it actually reduces power. If you tune with methanol you will be able to run higher boost levels and retard the timing more, so you can make more power safely.

with methanol injected into the mani (and pumpgas as the normal fuel), you can safely run higher boost and advance timing without worries of knock (timing is retarded when knock events occur)......

check out alkycontrol.com (im using it on my subaru currently)

I've got a custom Aquamist kit that ERL designed for me. Its a special twin pump kit with all the bells & whistles.

Remarkable quality and workmanship.
