Motor Trend test big hp cars why no 996tt?

They have a Hennessey Viper, Lingenfelter Vette, MTI GTO, Accufab Ford GT and a forgot the tuner sorry Mustang. Why no high hp tt's?

Because of traction problems no one broke out of the 11's in the quarter mile.

It would have been nice to see a GT900 or Aex's car running against these boys.

Motor Trend doesn't seem to be interested in Porsche tuners other than the occasional RUF!

Because a Porsche would've killed the American muscle; they wouldn't have sold any mags.

I can't believe Hennessey is still in business. Honestly, any magazine that tests one of their cars is not worth the paper its printed on.

if you read the cover of the magazine - it says "American Supercars", thus the 996TT would not fall into that category.

there was one car that ran 10.5@ 153 in the 1/4 mile in the test - the hennessy twin turbo viper did it on drag radials.

I know this was an American Supercar shootout but even when they have done other high hp shootouts they never have included big hp tuned Porsches. Just seems odd.

The last Porsche I remember them using was the Autothority 911 TT. It did very well too. Came in second to the Ligenfelter if I remember correctly.

Those magazine tests are a freakin joke anyway. Henne******'s cars are so far off the back in the viper world it's not even worth talking about. He's a hack tuner, crook, but sucks A LOT of dick when it comes to magazine publicity.

Truthfully I'd be embarrassed to have my name published in the same magazine as his. $150k in upgrades and they can't drop 2 sec off the time, thats about as lame as they come, but par for the course.

It would be killer to grab some crazy powerful cars and do a REAL test with them. 1/4 mile time/mph, 1 mile time/mph, then go do some laps around thunderhill or willow.

edit: and not some hack job cars, but quality builds that really run the number. Alex's TT, Rippers TT Viper (8.5ish 1/4), a Supra or two, TT ford GT, Waynes TT Gallardo etc.
