996 Turbo / GT2 Turbo discussion on previous model 2000-2005 Porsche 911 Twin Turbo and 911 GT2.

Has anyone also put the Porsche hood emblem on the back below the "turbo" emblem?

The Porsche's and specifically the TT are easily recognizable from the back. Why state the obvious? The other marks and not as distinctive as Porshe and therefore need an emblem to jog the memory!

IMHO

I'm giving some thought to putting crests on the front fenders ala a Ferrari shield, so why not on the back......after all, thats all most drivers see of a 996TT.

How many of you have a rear license plate frame that says "PORSCHE?" I almost bought one when I first got the car and after some thought realized it's kind of silly. But a lot of people do have them and it's not right or wrong. I saw one once that had a crest at each corner of the frame (total of four).

I was thinking about this too since I have no frame and it looks kind of dull. But I think I may get a frame that says RUF PORSCHE. Otherwise, with just Porsche on the frame it looks tacky and too show-offish? But to the average joe, they may think I am implying that I consider my porsche rough (ruf) and that may seem tacky too???

I guess I'm kind of hypocritical...I have no problem with thr Porsche on the license frame as my car just says turbo on the back. I know we know it is a Porsche, but there are actually many who do not. So Porsche on the license frame for me is OK. I would not do anything to the car itself though. And I definately would not mis represent my car as a RUF when it is not.

You didn't even know what Ruf was until the forum told you? I doubt you have a Ruf car if you didn't know Ruf is a tuner. Putting a Ruf plate on a none Ruf car will get you nothing but scrutiny from the Porsche community.

That might look a little "rice"-ish. I wouldn't do it. Maybe you could look into some personlized license plate combinations that'll get your point across.
