Doc, I 'd guess this will be a common problem with the Jag. If you're looking for something to drive reguglarly maybe the Jag isn't the right choice. If you don't mind garaging it and paying a specialist to tinker with it over time to get it 'right' then I'd get the Jag no doubt. If you happen to find one that is just spot-on, jump on it of course.
You can't help but to drool when looking at the pics of Arling's (?) former CS and the blue one with the white interior. For me the CS would be the 'daily-driver' in your current garage of super-cars.
Good luck on your decision.

You are living the dream of every 30 something and I am living vicariously through your collection. As such you must buy the jag. From the little I know of you I have the feeling you will buy the jag and then soon thereafter have the stradale anyway...
So for the dreamers among us, please buy the jag....
You know that that you lusted after that car many years ago anyway. So for the dreamers among us please buy it, please!!!!!!

I have not looked through the thread (getting long now) but from a Brit point of view the 220 is now regarded a bit of a dinosaur in the ultimate sports car. Most that have these now belong to real Jag enthusiasts. If It was me spending some serious dosh I would be looking for something else.

Either way ... Here's a link to a JAGUAR that probably won't attract too much attention because it's SOOO subtle on appearance

Dude, come on. You really took his answer on over the top styling seriously?
Yeah, no one will give you a second glance in a Xj220!!!
As i said, in the case of the 2, id go Jag all the way, but I myself contemplated buying one several years ago, and according to owners, mechanics, and just about anyone I spoke to, the Jag is a pain in the ***. As for the CS, buy one only if you wear panties.

The blue one you posted was at Newport European, which is now Newport Beach Rolls Royce. It has been there for a long time (looks like if may be there in that photo). I have not been in there lately (past 6 weeks, so it may be gone).
Good luck in your search. Given your outstanding collection a 220 would be nice. But I would also get a 959 S and a McClaren. I have been lucky enough to drive the 959 and ride in a McClaren. They were both incredible cars. The 959 is not a CGT, however it is a real piece of Porsche History. The McClaren is the most unbelievable car I have ever been in.
The 360 CS is also a great car so you can't go wrong there. Long term it will likely be a better investment than the 220, because the buyer list for it will be a lot longer than the 220 (that is a very unique car and will have a limited audiance). Its appeal will come from it being so rare.
No bad choice here.
Enjoy your cars in good health!

I'm going to pass on the XJ220...I thought about it tonight and I've realized that I want to stay away from "issue" cars...be it mechanical/servicing issues, interior issues, engine issues etc...
