Talking Big Pimpin Style

Just as we are walking into our parking garage at work today up comes a new Rolls Royce Phantom in black, this is the second one I have seen in person and its not a car I would own but that thing is a tank, I did not regognize the guy who drove off in it to be anyone famous, but he sure was happy.

When I was in New York there was one of those new Rolls at the hotel and I have to say that in the mags I thought it was so ugly but it definately looks much better in person.

I also saw my first Maybach in person nice.

If you ever get to New Jersey and the Mall at Short Hills, there is a 2004 Silver Phantom parked inside next to the information booth. It has a price tag of $325,000 and it definately looks like a tank.

Personally, I am not a big fan, but i love the backseat. It looks like a living room couch.

Pete:

I live in Short Hills, and saw that big pig sitting there in the mall. Those 22" wheels look like 16's. Talk about cab backwards design. My neighbor has a Maybach 62 and it looks like a S500 with a bad stretch. The RR is alot more substantial.

and those 22" have such beefy rubber to keep that ride plush, the Maybach I cannot stand to be honest.

On the Escalades we put 305/45/22's and the RR has bigger tires than that! But it would be kind of cool to wheel around in one of those for a little bit. When my neighbor pull out in his Maybach I keep thinking it is a Hyundai XG300. What a waste of money.

Yeah there's one here in the Pittsburgh area. I have seen it twice. I really do like it. Pictures seriously do the car no justice at all.

Maybach on the other hand...yuck. The back, for some reason, reminds me of the 7 series rear flipped upside down.

Exactly I have seen 2 in person, looks like a tank indeed, the Maybach is a Hyundai in disguise, what a joke that car is.

i saw the Maybach at By Design. Looks like an overpriced S500 even using the same guages.

But then i saw a Blue Phantom on Wilshire late one night.....

There is a silver Phantom sitting right out of The Venetian (where I am spending mu christmas ) and it looks very nice, I just think that the rear lights are a little smaller than what they should be. I would get the car in black for sure though.

Maybach sux IMO...nothing but a beefed up S and not worth the insanelyhuge premium
The Phantom is sweet...Only thing that bothered me was the low HP output from the gas guzzling 12 cylinder rngine...I was expecting a lot more

I think the S class is a much nicer design than the Maybach and I dont see a resemblance in the two.
