DYMAG: Carbon Fiber & Magnesium Wheels
#16
Yah, I met up with Bill at Bimmerfest 2006 and he had some samples out there. I could have held my arm straight for quite some time with this wheel. My question was "What happens when you curb them?"..... Believe it or not they are actually repairable per Bill, that's if they are not too bad.

the motorcycle community has had these wheels for a long time. they are usually not recommended for street duty. more of a "track only" wheel due to durability (pothole impacts, etc). maybe these are different. i don't know, but i would definately ask.....

Dymag Carbon /magnesium
The wheels have passed a series of test already this includes Japans stringent JWL road wheel test as well as GB road test and an independent General Motors test for Cadillac. The more complete test data will be in my hands in about a week.
The wheels are coming OE on some super cars as well including Mosler,Ascari and the new Konigsegg CCX. They have passed the differnt test by these car makers using a very high test criteria. Dymag as been making OE wheels in Magnesium and Forged aluminum for some time and of course the racing community of F1,Super Turing and CARTback in the day, they have a great pedigree and know what it takes to build this type of wheel.
Lastly they have been testing with Porsche Motorsport since October of last year and have been accepted By PARR as a supplier in the UK.
