Hamann 996/997

Uber-tuner Hamann has created a conversion kit for the previous-generation Porsche 911 (996) that transforms its appearance to match the current generation (997) model. The conversion kit is available for the 996 series models Carrera, GT3, Carrera 4S as well as the Turbo and GT2. With the new model — the 997 — Porsche reverted back to more classic styling, including round headlights. So in a way, this kit makes an old Porsche look like a newer Porsche, which looks like an even older Porsche. Images after the jump…

Personally I think this looks hot as hell.

I love some of their trims but I think it is silly to change the headlights. I think the 996 headlights suit the turbo and wish the 997tt had them. The previou 911's were smaller and the round headlights looked good.

I prefer 996 look more than a 997 wannabe
They look more like Recaro A8 seats to me

I agree with you, Tom. There is something special and unique about the curves and lines of the 996 Turbo. It has a beautiful character all of it's own. The 997 is attractive in it's own way. To try to mix the two just doesn't work for me.

But your write up is better lol. Still think it looks butt-ugly, I actually like the 996 design a lot, it was the first Porsche that attracted my attention way back.
