I would say go with an Interstate. If you go to an auto parts store they can help you get the correct size. The Porsche OEM one is not all that great, and I have had the Interstate for 2 years with zero problems.

I purchased the Sears Diehard, which is an equivalent to the Interstate. The OEM battery doesn't have the life or the deep discharge capacity that some others do. My wife's '03 C4S just had a battery failure, and she drives it nearly every day.

I was amazed that the Sears reference book contained the equivalent Diehard for the 2001 TT.....

There are performance options available if you want to go low weight. Check with our sponsors.

Sears Group 48 Diehard. I believe it is around $100-$120 and even comes with the gas discharge hose.

Go to Renntech.org for some good insights/advice. Many recommend the Duralast 48-DL from AutoZone ($65-75). Good luck!

That's what I run and have been for the past few years. It's lighter and has a slightly higher cranking amp (cold and warm) rating as well. It even has the gas discharge hose.

I got a Costco (Interstate) size 47 for about $55. It has a 3 year free replacement warranty and is about 2" smaller than a 48. The Duralast and Bosch batteries at Pepboys and Autozone are also made by Interstate.

Does an Interstate MTP-H8 fit and work well in the Porsche?

Costco batteries are made by Johnson Control. Are you sure it's the same as an Interstate? Interstate are great and lasted 6 yrs. Costco battery seem to last about 4 yrs.
