Photos Of My New Intercoolers/End Tanks And Aeromotive Fuel Pump
Attached are photos of: (1) my new 4.5 inch Bell intercooler cores with end tanks and pipes custom fabricated by EVOMS; and (2) my new Aeromotive AX1000 fuel pump and Aeromotive Billet Fuel Pump Speed Controller.
EVOMS did an outstanding job fabricating the end tanks and piping for the 4.5 inch Bell intercooler cores -- particularly with all the rounded lines and edges to smoothen the air flow. Many thanks to EVOMS. Many thanks also to Markski for introducing me to these cores. The fabrication of the end tanks takes a considerable amount of time, and the OEM intercooler bracket and ducting must be modified to accept these new units -- they are not simply bolt-ons. Consequently, for those seeking a better option to the weak 2.5 inch GT2 intercoolers and ridiculously restrictive OEM plastic end tanks, I recommend 3.5 inch cores and end tanks. EVOMS will be offering a 3.5 inch bolt-on intercooler very shortly. Speed Gallery already offers such a product.
I had been using an internal Bosch high flow fuel pump that is part of EVOMS’ GT800 kit. With the additional air flow supplied by my ported heads and larger valves, it was determined that my upgraded Bosch pump would not be sufficient. Therefore, EVOMS has installed an external Aeromotive AX1000 fuel pump, along with an Aeromotive Billet Fuel Pump Speed Controller and larger, braided steel fuel return lines (my other fuel lines had already been upgraded). This should ensure that my fuel supply can keep pace with my air supply.
EVOMS will be tuning my car this week, and I should have it back by the end of the week.

Congrats Craig....
Does this indicate that we are going forward with the GTG??? Also, If you want to drive home via Las Vegas, there will be a HUGE mem. day party over the weekend (Playboy bunnies included) if you wanted to drop by and/or stay for a day or two...let me know and I will comp your overnight...
The A1000 Fuel Pump is only good for 800hp (forced induction).....are you going to run two??

i think that he is running the bosch pump from thr GT800 kit in series with the new fuel pump. That is why he got an external fuel pump so he could keep the tank mounted pump also.

Thanks for the kind words.
I do not know what the price will be for the 3.5 inch intercoolers. Keep in mind that it takes a lot of effort to properly design end tanks. EVOMS did a good amount of flow testing in order to determine the optimum design. I am informed that certain other designs that were tried did not flow nearly as well. There is more to it than simply slapping some metal onto the ends of the cores.
The 4.5 inch cores are overkill for most people and, given the custom fabrication and additional modifications required, cost considerably more than the 3.5 inch intercoolers. The 3.5 inch intercoolers bolt right on as a direct replacement, and they flow more than enough air for the GT800 and beyond. In fact, the 3.5 inch intercoolers would likely have been more than sufficient for my application, but I already had the 4.5 inch cores in hand when I discovered EVOMS' new intercoolers.
