I'm in Monaco for the Grand Prix
We got here Monday. We're just getting over the jetlag, there's a 9 hour time difference between here and AZ. We came over for the race. We came with a tour company called ToursF1, they are first rate all the way. We have an apartment rented for viewing the race with a balcony that's right over the long straightaway. We're staying at the Fairmont Hotel on the Mediteranean Sea in Monte Carlo. Here are some shots I've gotten so far:
The Grandstands in front of Hotel de Paris on Tuesday
The view from our room balcony at the Fairmont
The other view from our balcony (that boat in front is a 90ft Mangusta)

Crap, the apartment you're viewing the race from, is it the hilly section after the right turn of the start/finish straight? If it is, awesome vantage point. You can see the cars accelerate out of the right turn, onto the hilly section with some kinks, then into a left.
THANK-YOU for sharing the pix and keep them coming. Nothing like being at a live F1 race and at that, Monaco, the most prestigious one. Only been to Shanghai , gots to go to Monaco some time. Looking forward to your updates!!!
Cheers!

RennTechV12,
Great pics..!! ... Monaco is THE place for F1... spectacular location.. unfortunately, not a lot of passing but i would go back again in a heartbeat.. try to get down to the harbor where the teams and transporters are.. the drivers are there... in and out after practice etc.. i have a pic of Schumacher but he came by quickly and i wasn't ready.., (blurry)
.
i assume that you will have cocktails with one of the drivers or something to that effect... or they will take you to the Automobile Club de Monaco..
.
this site may be of help to you..
http://www.acm.mc/gpm/gpm_main.php
.
it would be fun for you to check out other track locations.. especially today and tomorrow.. very different perspectives..
.
additionally, if you haven't already, walking the harbor, the old palace (across the harbor from you) and driving down the coast to Nice are fun things to do..
.
i have included a pic of Roman Abramovichs' 377' Pelorus motor yacht.. it is almost as big as Paul Allen's but then again, the young Russian is only 39..
.
thanks for the pics...
.

I am in awe!
Have fun and this is on my must do list in the next few years!!!
Marty K.
(P.S. I love how the Europeans use their cars, drive them everywhere,
park them anywhere and do not worry about the the small dings...)
