No state income tax and no sales transfer tax on private car transactions...VIVA LAS VEGAS...leaves more money to be lost at the casinos...

Yeah, but in California we pay that tax. You guys are lucky in NV and AZ. Probably in Oregon too.

You have to familiarize yourself with the DMV regulations in your state. In CA, even if you purchase the car outside the state, when you register it here, they will f you...

This was not a factory installed kit it says "One of the few 911 Turbo's with the Factory Kit GT2 look. Performed by an Authorized Dealer with all Genuine Porsche Parts"

I agree that the factory would not do this but if someone is at the dealer and says "I want xxx" im sure they would do it.

Same in Maryland. But I will see your F you and raise you an *** F. In Maryland, if you buy a car, say for a 100k, you pay your 5% and then if you trade it in on another 100k car, guess what, you have to pay tax on the new car's 100k. Not the trade difference, even if you bought the first car a week ago. Double F, pick an orifice.

You guys have it good in Maryland. Our tax rate is 8.25% in Los Angeles and we don't have a trade difference either. Highway robbery.

Gettting back to the original post, mid 70's sounds reasonable.

Pays to be in a state that has an annual BUDGET SURPLUS of over $500MM for the last fiscal year...

When I bought my BMW from a friend and declared lower value at the DMV they sent me a letter requesting the addittional taxes based on the "market" value and not the purchase price.. this was in Michigan.

Here in Indiana, which is a backwards *** state, I told the DMV that the car was a gift. Didn't have to pay tax.
