Help with negotiating a price.
Hey guys! I found this 2001 TT that I'm interested in but I would like to negotiate a better deal. What do you think it's worth?

Is it CPO? Extended warranty? If no I would say 75k max, unless your crazy about the gt2 kit.
Have you considered the sales tax you will pay? You might want to consider looking for a private party car, no sales tax, cheaper. Lots to be found for 70k, some with great mods.

There's never no sales tax. If he pays CASH for the car from a private party,...then he can declare as little as he feels comfortable to his dmv.......but he will then pay tax on that. There are very few of us that don't have to use some amount of financing to buy a car like that and if you try to tell the dmv that you paid some miniscule amount like $10,000 for it......there's a solid chance you will get a phone call from a investigator.
But yes, there are substancial savings to be had if you can come up with a large percentage of the purchase price in cash........

I was told recently that the DMV audits certain sales prices of cars, but there is room to play with if you can find a car that has been already paid for and clear title that belongs to a private owner. Just went through that.
Hey T, 1000 miles already and a Techart type I decklid spoiler.

Since the car is CPO, I'd consider as high as $78-79, but the GT2 badge has to be taken off and regular Turbo badge replaced. OTOH you could put a big "TYPE R NOS TURBO" sticker on the back next to the GT2 badge.
That price also means new tires are on the car.
